Thank you so much for that piece! I am so going to read that book. We have a large fig tree in our garden which is as old as I am, meaning 51. We consider it as a family member for it offers shade, food and breathable air to us all year long. I dearly love it and give it hugs regularly, telling it how important it is in our lives. Trees are living creatures, so much wiser and kinder to one another than we are, and we should so much take care of them, learn from them and, most of all, be grateful for them for they grant us with life. Lots of love.

Awesome thanks for commenting Geraldine. I just planted a couple baby yukka trees last year. Hopefully theyโ€™ll still be here in 51 years and me too (making me 101!) Heโ€™s also got another book out too called The Heart Beat of Trees which I just got in the local library

Oh I read that book a long time ago. It's so amazing to learn about everything that goes on around us. I'm just in absolute awe and wonder for our trees.

I picked up this book cuz I saw it on Ted Lasso. If youโ€™re a fan, Beard was reading it.

And I highlighted and noted all the same details you did about trees.

My shaman teacher always said that trees are the wisest beings on the planet. I believe him. He also said that if you hug a tree long enough, it will reveal its true self to you and teach you spiritual wisdoms you couldnโ€™t learn in human land. I believe him about that too.

Makes me very proud to say that when I was a kid, my nickname (very first ever nickname) was Tree.

That's great Teri thanks. I started watching Ted Lasso on holiday - the same holiday where I came across the tree book!! I really have come to appreciate trees more as I get older.
