Thank you @JFT Beach for the shout out in your round up! So appreciated. This post made me chuckle and made me think. From wanker to empathy. That mindfulness practice is really doing it's magic!
Your story about the encounter with the angry driver really resonated with me. I've definitely had moments where my knee-jerk reaction would have been fight or flight, but like you, I've found that mindfulness can create a space for a more compassionate response. It's not always easy, but it's definitely worth it. Thanks for sharing your experience β it's a great reminder of the power of meditation to transform our reactions and interactions.
"So you know world domination pretty close" - I am looking forward to it.
I'm cracking up at your Ted Lasso reference and your very British explanation of 'wanker'. But seriously, the way you handled that situation is impressive.
PS I love it when people mention Ted Lasso in their articles. It's my favorite TV series of all time. I hope you have an amazing week ahead.
While I'm still trying to get a grasp on the image of your outfit while biking to the beach, I can totally relate to the overwhelming sense of EMPATHY you felt for the man calling you a wanker from his car. This empathy-effect is most definitely one of the most curious side-effects of mindfulness. Let's also be clear, empathy and pity are very very different sensations. Empathy lives in the heart. Pity lives in the gut.
Thank you for yet again featuring my publication in your round-up. I'm always honored and grateful for your support and kind words.
p.s. Yummy is one of my Hobbit's favorite words, but he says "yum yums" more.

Yep it's all about creating that space you ate space right.

Glad you liked it!! Iβm so tempted to make a joke about you referring to hummus in the sentence where you discuss an Arabβs post π
Didnβt even get that connection - but hey go for it π
Thanks for the mention! I haven't been around this week, life happened, and I'll catch up with my reading asap. Thanks again!
