Great reminder for me to look for the fun things in life. Sometimes I forget to do that although I do laugh a lot at stupid things all day long. Great to read. Thank you ππ
Thank you, JFT. A lot of what you wrote made me smile as well. I love your morning routine and Iβm considering moving by the beach within the next decade, probably on the Eastern Mexican coast. « I woke upΒ Β» is just the perfect sentence to express the joy of being alive in the most essential way, I love it, almost as much as I love The Cureβs song. Thank you again for all those smiles! Lots of love.
JFT, this post was just what I needed today. It's so easy to get caught up in the big, splashy moments we're told to chase, yet you've beautifully articulated how much richness resides in the everyday. Peggy's helicopter tail, the bath-like warmth of the sea, the urban Mary Poppins with her umbrella β these aren't grand adventures, but they are potent reminders that joy often whispers rather than shouts. Your ability to highlight these tiny, free treasures is truly inspiring and serves as a wonderful nudge to pause and actually see the magic that's constantly unfolding around us, if only we'd look.
I didnβt realize you have a loafβ¦.well,β¦a half loaf. Peggy is adorbs. Did you know any corgi mix just looks like the breed with short legs?
I have a full loaf, and she is my joy for this moment. Her sploot corgi butt right next to my lap so I can dig my fingers into the fur for all the fuzzy soft glees.
Peggy looks so cute π my little joy was going for a very short walk and just soaking up some sunshine, then we decided on a whim to go out for dinner and did another short walk by the beach - just a lovely Sunday. Thanks for the mention π
Re "man-emotions" - guys are allowed to cry. Just be discreet about it ;-) Re "I got up" - I usually say either "I'm upright" (able to stand up, which some days is an achievement) or "I got to sing" if I'm at church/choir rehearsal. So yeah. I totally get it.
Living by the beach? Just do it already! I can't imagine ever not living by a coast now. Thanks for your kind and supportive words I really appreciate you taking the time. Take good care.
Thank you for the shout out.
Very welcome
Youβve been JFTβd! Such an honor my friend!!
You mean someone reads my post other than me? :)
Yup they do mate...

Thanks for stopping by Rich

"Joy whispers rather than ahouts" - I like that phrase a lot. Thanks for commenting Alex.
Ok I took 2 days off substack for the weekend and come back to this! Thanks for including me ππΌ
You're very welcome
This was so lovely and a wonderful reminder to pause long enough to enjoy the joy-filled moments of everyday life.
Thanks Paulette - I appreciate your kind words.
This was the loveliest scroll break. I didnβt realize how badly I needed to be reminded that delight is hiding in plain sight.
Somewhere between a swim, a smile, and a dog hug.
Happy New Week John...
I love being a lovely scroll break π have an excellent week my friend
Thank you so much John..
I love ridiculously free joys, like the squirrels that make my dogs pull every which way on the morning walk. Thanks for your noticing and sharing!
I love my doggy squirrel interactions too!!
Yea... I saw that. Cool, uh?! It prompted me to work on that particular newsletter.

Her legs are super short and her feet are like a rabbit! Need a picture and name for your woofer now!
Tosha
Or, her full name
Tosha Mira Lama Anahata Alice TwinkleFuzz
Now THAT'S a name... actually seems like an entire football team of cool names.
she definitely has that many personalities inside her.
Glad to read about your five things.
This morning a hot beverage, a good book, and a cuddly cat are making me smile.
Nice combo- which book Tim?
Itβs science fiction this week, Line War by Neil Asher
