Yet again, my favorite partner to my Sunday morning coffee is your Sunday round up. I love how you show that breathing (and a short walk) can do wonders for the inner grumpy toddler. I have also heard that Wim Hof breathing can create a psychedelic state similar to that of taking mushrooms (without the effect of having to wait for them to metabolize before going back to β€œnormal”) You may have achieved a level of that

I've worked with Wim twice. The first time was a 3 day event with Laird Hamilton. I wrote about my experience with Wim.

But WHM breathing is amazing, but a person has to be careful. People susceptible to seizures shouldn't do it. It's also easy to pass out. I've seen it happen. (and yet, people still do it in water....)

But here it is 8 years later, and I'm still doing Wim's methods on a regular basis.

You can get tingling in hands, feet, face (an aura),... And you can get the heightened clarity that JFT mentioned... It's like going from standard definition television to 4K UHD at times.

It can be an amazing and invigorating experience! 😊

I heard my mom's voice for the first time in 35 years.... Something I thought was gone forever. I'll never been able to thank him enough for that. Priceless.

I liked the Wim Hof breathing part the best, but I could certainly relate to the grumpiness when all hadn't happened on the β€œcorrect” timeliness. I'm put together a little differently, however, and a rave would have overwhelmed me really quickly. Cheers!

Thank you again for highlighting my article. I am also very mindful of politics and sharing the same. I am so tired of it already lol

Your festival adventure sounds incredible! I loved reading about your journey from grumpy toddler to festival-goer. Thanks for sharing your experiences; they really highlight how mindfulness can transform everyday moments into something extraordinary. Happy September to you :)

Yeah, Scott Carney has been going after them about the drownings.

But we were taught day one, 8 years ago…. Don't do this in water. Passing out can be common, etc. And yet, people still do it in water…..

Wim and their organization can only do so much. Can't do the breathing for them or monitor every person who chooses to misuse and abuse it. Same thing with the seizures…. People have to know the dangers. (those things have been spelled out for years… on their website, and across YouTube, etc.

A person can be given a set of work tools…. But if they beat themselves in the head with the hammer or kill someone else with it, that's not the fault of the person who makes the tools.

I know it's an odd one as Scott Carney's book was so pro Wjm although initially sceptical, now very anti-hof. Not sure what to believe really. But people don't get it. There was a bloke near where I swim doing the WH breathing in the ocean- I told him about shallow drowning and the dangers. He had no idea and even seemed to think I was being too cautious. I do hope he did listen though.
