The domino effect of small choices by JFT Beach lol
It's also brilliant how you use humor to explore addiction patterns. That line about 'getting value for money with fizzy drinks' hits uncomfortably close to home for anyone who's ever rationalized their way into excess. It's the small self-destructive habits, not the big dramatic ones, that usually derail us.
btw - I took my Hobbit out to breakfast this morning and asked for decaf coffee while Hobbit requested full caff. The server came back with two full pots, giving us permission to refill our own cups at will. Big mistake, as I do believe the pots were given to us reversed. Hobbit got the decaf and I got the energy zap. Here it is 4pm and my limbs are still twitching and jiggling. I'm so super sensitive to caffeine, haven't ingested it (on purpose) for years. I made the decision today to never order coffee in a restaurant again, lest they accidentally or accidentally-on-purpose give me full caff. Sheesh...will I even sleep tonight?
Oh dear. This very easy read details the slippery downhill slope we all slide when we set aside our basic needs (sleep and food). The full raw vulnerable honesty in this story is so refreshing (and so typical of JFT Beach). I always find myself chuckling out loud, re-reading bits, and going back for a second round when I read these Sunday Round-Up messages.
And of course, to be JFT'd again and have my Ode to Love ala Shawshank Redemption be mentioned just giggles all my inside wiggles.
Agh! I'm sorry you got caught up with the food-awfuls. Here's the good news...you are so far along the path to good health that your body actually lets you know when you've crossed a line. Many people don't even notice because awful is their norm.
Thanks for a fun read, JFT! (Even if the experience was not fun for you.)
I used to live in the UK for a few years (Scotland) cuz my husband is Scottish...so I remember Wetherspoons. I do love pub food! π (even though I donβt drink).
Thanks for sharing this vulnerable piece. It is quite amazing how our bodies talk to us with things such as fatigue and brain fog depending on the foods we eat.

Glad you enjoyed it Teri - take care and have a great week.
LOL'ing at "It was fast, It was furious" π π Yes to grace, and yes to new days and new choices. ππ

Thanks Jeanie that's a great way of thinking about it, I really appreciate that.
Omg the "food-over" is so relatable. I've definitely been there, way too much food and then regretting it after and feeling terrible and tired π«
It's a killer!
It sounds like you had a fabulous weekend! Everything in moderation! π
You are totally right though, the food we eat definitely impacts how we feel.
Thanks for the shout out too. It's lovely to connect with you. π
Thanks Sharon... and likewise.
JFT, I enjoyed your read and what you shared. I look forward to when you enjoy mine enough to pass it on.
You picked one of my favorites, as you dubbed the queen of Mindful, Teri Leigh!
You are so clever painting the pictures in fewer words. THAT I love so much about you.
Have a happy and healthier week across the pond π€
Thank you so much for the mention π
Enjoy your lazy Sunday - sans caffeine!
You are welcome

Pub food is good food!
