My travel "abroad" has consisted of chaperoning a high school trip to Canada, a cruise to Bermuda, and a plane ride to Jamaica. I've never crossed the pond, although I'd like to reach Hawaii one day, but I don't think that counts as "abroad." I'm quite content with the Jersey and Delaware beaches although long ago when I taught at a posh boarding school, the students would lament that Mommy and Daddy had forced them to go on yet another jaunt to France. Poor things.
Love that Linda my daughter was on scholarship at a posh school for a bit and some her mates were very sad at being dragged to France and Switzerland to ski... tough life π take care
Oh dear friend, Sunday morning coffee is always accompanied by your round up and a few giggles. This week did not disappoint.
βAnd strained my ears to see if there was any dramatic or salacious gossip to be heard!β
This line made me laugh so hard the baileys coffee came out my nose a bit. My Hobbit is always asking peeps for the latest gossip (as our work from home lives are so peaceful and plain he lives vicariously through the drama of othersβ¦home owners association gossip from the elderly parents is the best!)
Did you know that a fun way to say youβre jealous is βtotes jellyβ and when I say that, all evidence of the green eyed monster goes swirling down the scrubbing bubbles toilet drain with giggles. Yup, I use mindful language to snap me back to my center.
And, I dare say that this last paragraph comment would not have ever come out of me if it werenβt for the humor you bring to my Sunday morning world.
Humor is one of the highest forms of mindfulness.
And just now, mindfulness tried to autocorrect to kindfulness- I like that!
Wow so much in your comments Teri. For one glad you're on the Bailey's coffee my wife swears but it! Loving the totes jelly - little phrases like that work so well to jolt one. Glad it gave you smiles- have a great week.
Thank you for the mention! I loved your take on jealousyβitβs so true that travel tales can spark that green-eyed monster, even when we know itβs all part of the chase for external fulfillment. Iβve found that itβs only when we cultivate peace and joy in the present moment, in the places we already are, that we truly start to see travel (or anything) for what it isβa fleeting source of excitement rather than lasting contentment.
Your humor made my Sunday too, and I completely agree with you: humor is one of the highest forms of mindfulness. Itβs like a good belly laugh pulls you right back into the present, doesnβt it?
Looking forward to next weekβs continuationβthis journey of yours is a fun, real, and zenny escape.
Your December 23rd saga = festive rollercoaster with a side of zen :)
I agree with your thoughts on finding fulfillment in the NOW.
Youβre right - no matter where we go, we still bring ourselves with us!
Thanks Neela take care and have a great week

Lovely read and a good reminder on the jealousy thing. I get that too now and then.
Thanks Melissa I think we all do !
Love this! You're still you, wherever you go. Glad you help remind of that again today when I feel envy. Happy new year.
Welcome Hans - happy new year to you my friend.
